Slim Harrison and Tom Jolin teamed up over 30 years ago to perform traditional, old timey, Americana folk music. Slim plays the fiddle, banjo, guitar, mountain dulcimer, harmonica and more. He is also a sought after traditional dance caller. Tom plays the hammer dulcimer, banjo, button accordion, guitar, harmonica, bowed psaltery and more. The both sing. In 2006, they released an album and performed at the Viljandi, Estonia Folk Music Festival. In 2008, they toured Germany, including The Rudolstadt Folk Festival and Moelln Folk Festival.

They perform for all kinds of venues including schools, folk festivals, and history events. They performed for the Smithsonian Institute and also, for former Vice President Gore at his residence at a reception for foreign diplomats. Slim and Tom have not only enjoyed performing together for more than a quarter century, but have their separate solo schedules.

Slim has performed for 35 years and has been making instruments for 30 years.

They are frequently joined by the award winning RockCandy Cloggers, adding dazzling footwork to The Barnstormer performances. Rock Howland and Candy Ranlet of Mt. Airy, MD also teach dance and play; Candy on string bass/concertina and Rock on the fiddle. The entire Barnstormers and RockCandy Cloggers four person ensemble performed at the Bethlehem Musikfest in 2007 and had a very successful performance tour of Germany in 2008. Rock Howland and Candy Ranlet teamed as the RockCandy Cloggers in 1994 and started performing with the Barnstormers in 2006. Each are winners of individual clogging competitions, including the National Clog and Hoedown Council East Coast Championships and Deer Creek Fiddlers Convention. They teach clogging at their own studios. They performed at the Kennedy Center and are regulars for the Washington Folk Festival and Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival.
